BC15 rice variety of Thai Binh Seed won big in West, Vietnam

The capacity of BC15 rice variety was reached more than 9 tons/hectare with the high ouput price of BC15. The profit earned from 25-27 million VND/hectare

Tay Nam Bo Branch of Thai Binh Seed co-oprated with Khiet Tam co-operative, Thanh Loi commune, Vinh Thanh, Can Tho city to organize production in March
The model of BC15 rice variety was made at Khiet Tam cooperative with 35 hectares. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tan – a farmer who participated the model. He was happy to say: “ This is the first time, I cultivate BC15 rice variety following the production processing of rice seed, so that, I was so worry. After near 4 months, I care for BC15 rice variety, now, I belevie that that season will be big win”.
According to Mr. Tan said that althought, farmers cultivated rice seed in few ten years, but they maily sowed with the rice seed amount from 180 – 200 kilograms/hectare. When we attended the program of Thai Binh Seed had only 50 kilograms/hectare to cultivate. so that Mr. Tan always worried. However, he and farmers was advanced about technical by Thai Binh Seed.
When farmers begun to harvest, they just believed that the cooperation program has successed. The rice-yield of Mr. Tan’s house got about 1.3 tons/container (more than 9 tons/hectare), in there, the productivity of other varieties only reached 1-1.1 tons.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huan, Director of Khiet Tam cooperative said that: “  This is the first time that we cooperate with Thai Binh Seed to make rice variety, but the result is very good.From this success will expand areage for other communes”.
According to Mr. Luong Van Ky, Director of Tay Nam Bo Branch of Thai Binh Seed said that BC15 rice variety was producted in Cuu Long Delta in few years recently and tested on  alum soil ( Dong Thap Province), saline soil ( Bac Lieu Province) and alluvium soil (Kien Giang Province), It has even achieved the good result such as: Tan Hiep and Vinh Thanh district have the capacity 9 tons/hectare.
