PUREBRED RICE VARIETY TBR225

1. Origin:

TBR225 is a purebred rice variety which is monopolized by ThaiBinh Seed Joint Stock Corporation. It was recognized as National Seed in 2015.

2. Characteristics:

TBR225 is a cold-tolerant, short-term rice variety, with wide adaptability, strong tillering, and high intensive farming.

Growth time: in the North of Viet Nam: in Spring crop from 120 days to 132 days, in Summer crop from 105 days to 110 days; in South Central and Central Highlands: in Winter-Spring crop from 105 days to 110 days, in Summer-Autumn crop from 95 days to 100 days; in the South of Viet Nam from 95 days to 100 days.

Height: from 110 to 115 cm, strong stem, concentrated flowering; big flowers, grainy, slim seeds, 1000 seeds's net weight is about 24 grams to 25 grams.

Slightly infected by rice blast bacteria and leaf blight bacteria.

Average yield reaches from 70 quintals to 75 quintals/ha, can reach from 85 quintals to 90 quintals/ha with good intensive farming conditions.

The ratio of milled rice is high (72-74%); good rice's quality, pure and white rice grains, cooked rice  is soft, strong taste with typical aroma.
