Khang Dan 18 is a Chinese purebred rice variety selected and purified by ThaiBinh Seed Joint Stock Corporation.
Growing time: in the North of Viet Nam: in Spring crop from 120 days to 130 days, in Summer crop from 100 days to 105 days; in South Central and Central Highlands: in Winter-Spring crop from 100 days to 105 days, in Summer-Autumn crop from 90 days to 95 days.
Height: from 95 cm to 100 cm, easy to fall, moderately - tillering, beautiful phenotype, vertical leaves, concentrated flowering; slim seeds, arranged closely, 1000 seeds's net weight is about 19 grams to 20 grams.
Slightly infected by leaf blight bacteria, moderately infected by sheath blight disease and by rice blast bacteria.
Average yield reaches from 60 quintals to 65 quintals/ha, can reach 70 quintals to 75 quintals/ha with good intensive farming conditions.
Amylose content reaches 24.4%, medium rice's quality.
