TBR97 is a cold-tolerant rice variety with wide adaptability and high intensive farming.

Short growing time: In the North of Viet Nam (from Thua Thien Hue to the North): in Spring crop from 120 days to 125 days, in Summer crop from 100 days to 105 days; in South Central and Central Highlands: in Winter-Spring crop from 105 days to 110 days, in Summer-Autumn crop from 95 days to 100 days; in the South of Viet Nam from 95 days to 100 days.

Height from 90 cm to 100 cm, neat, strong stem, strong tillering, concentrated flowering, the average number of seeds/a flower reaches 165 seeds to 200 seeds, bright yellow color, high percentage of firm seeds.1000 seeds's net weight is about 21 grams to 22 grams.

Quite good resistance to rice blast bacteria and brown planthopper, slightly infected by leaf blight bacteria and brown spot disease.

Average yield reaches from 70 quintals to 75 quintals/ha in Winter - Spring crop, can reach from 75 quintals to 80 quintals/ha with good intensive farming conditions; 60 quintals to 65 quintals/ha in Summer - Autumn crop .

The ratio of milled rice is 68.0%, the ratio of raw rice/milled rice is 71-78%, Amylose content reaches 17.2%, long and pure rice grains, cooked rice is white, glossy, soft, strong taste , quite delicious.
