1. Origin:
P6 is a rice variety hybidized by Agricultural Science Institute of Viet Nam, selected and purified by ThaiBinh Seed Joint Stock Corporation.
2. Characteristics:
Growing time: in the North of Viet Nam: in Spring crop from 135 days to 145 days (base sowing), from 160 days to 170 days (medicinal sowing); in Summer crop from 115 - 120 days.
Height: from 90 cm to 95 cm, good-tillering, vertical leaves; long and slim seeds, 1000 seeds's net weight is about 24 grams to 25 grams.
Medium resistance to rice blast bacteria and to brown planthopper, slightly infected by sheath blight disease and by leaf blight bateria.
Average yield reaches from 60 quintals to 65 quintals/ha, can reach from 70 quintals to 75 quintals/ha with good intensive farming conditions.
Amylose content reaches 21%, good rice's quality, cooked rice is soft with strong taste.
